SB Nation Live Mock Draft: Steelers stay at pick 20 but remained ‘Greedy’

We got an LSU Tiger but was it the one you wanted?
The 2019 SB Nation Live Mock Draft kicked off Saturday at noon and four hours later the first round had been completed. The live mock is scheduled to resume Sunday at noon, with plans to complete the second and third rounds.
The Jacksonville Jaguars team site Big Cat Country is holding the Mock of Mocks and is hosted by Hurricane123. Everyone is welcome to come over and check it out. If you choose to come, all is asked is that you do not use the Subject Line to make comments. The bold font from the Subject Line is used for draft information and is easier to pick out for later use.
Moving to the reason why you’re here, the Pittsburgh Steelers pick. I will say that I had offers to trade and move around, and there will be further chances, but chose to stay put at pick 20. That decision to do so as you will see cost us a chance to grab the second of the Devin’s. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Devin White, fairly early at pick #5. It was a bit unexpected for White to go that early but the upside is tremendous for the LSU linebacker.
With White gone, what about the other Devin? Devin Bush? Well, think William Jackson lll, does that ring a bell? It should because it is believed by many that he was going to be drafted by the Steelers before the Bengals took him one pick before ours.
Guess what happened?
That’s right the Cincinnati Bengals, with the 19th pick before, took Devin Bush. I wasn’t surprised and like I said I had the opportunity to move up, I didn’t.
I was pleased to see I had the choice of the top three cornerbacks at pick 20. The question remained which one should we grab. I have been on record as saying that I felt Murphy was the best in this draft class. I have said that due to our lack of being able to develop corners we would need to find someone that we couldn’t muck up. Dre Baker is fundamentally sound as any in the class but felt his upside wasn’t that appealing. That leaves one guy, and he comes from a school that has been dubbed DBU. The LSU Tigers have had a great run of putting defensive back talent into the NFL, it wasn’t a hard choice, Greedy Williams is now a mock draft member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The complete first round can be seen below, take a look at it and see what stands out. Tell me what you think about our pick. I’m on to rounds two and three. Have a great day.
