JuJu Smith-Schuster just wants to have fun, and decided to spread the love recently with local fans.
There are some Pittsburgh Steelers fans who don’t want to see players do anything but play football, workout and study film. Anything else is viewed as a worthless waste of time. For fans like this, you must really hate JuJu Smith-Schuster. Not only is he active on social media, but he loves to play video games and to have fun in the community.
The most recent example of Smith-Schuster’s local antics in the community would be when he hosted a free water balloon fight for the local community of Pittsburgh.
This is what he put on social media the day before the event:

If you saw this, your reaction was probably something like this…
“A water balloon fight? Really?!”
Yet on Saturday Smith-Schuster did much more than just have a water balloon fight for the local kids. He played dodgeball, had a DJ to play music, gave away free food, tickets and more.
Check out this thread from Ray Fittipaldo’s official Twitter account regarding the event:

Apparently, JuJu walked his dog up here this week, stopped into the community center and asked to hold this event here. It’s all free. He paid for Kona Ice Truck and @CFARobinson sandwiches. When those ran out he ordered 100 pizzas.

JuJu also pulled out wads of cash out of his fanny pack and paid the winners of the dodge ball game.

A woman here said JuJu went to Wal Mary this morning to buy all the water toys. Her son was collecting for charity and JuJu dropped $900 on his can.

Check out some of the social media responses to those who were at the event:
That’s my son he landed next to at the 15 sec mark. His mother is in yellow next to him. I took him to celebrate his 14th birthday today. Juju was amazing to him. Let him and my youngest boy both get in a few a of the games. pic.twitter.com/Fq3OHQhZ2X

This is how pro athletes are supposed to act. Be involved in your community. This small act has impacted and touched and/or changed multiple lives today. He seems like a true class act. You are lucky to have him Pittsburgh…now a fan of the MAN not just the player.

At this point, words can’t describe how happy I am Smith-Schuster is a member of the Steelers. Why? Because this is what I feel the Steelers are all about. This isn’t to suggest other players aren’t doing good things in the community, but Smith-Schuster does it with a flare, and a genuine nature, unmatched in today’s NFL.
If you ever wonder how Smith-Schuster became so popular, this is why…
